2006 Scott Robertson Memorial Boys Entrance Criteria

The 2006 Scott Robertson Memorial field will consist of app. 90 players from the categories below, including additions, with spots being filled by applicants from these categories in numerical order. All applicants from categories 1-3 will be automatically accepted, regardless of the number. Once the field is full (accepting applicants in category 1 first, 2 next, and so on), the applicants from lower categories will not gain entry, unless earning a spot through one of the qualifying rounds. Only the oldest age divisions of the following tournaments will be considered prior to category 12 which applies to 14 and under age division only.

Category 1	Top 25 in the 2005 Scott Robertson Memorial Boys 15-18 division. Any previous SRM 15-18 champion.
Category 2	2005 AJGA 1st, 2nd, 3rd team All-Americans 2005 Cannon Cup team members
Category 3	2005 U.S. Men’s Open qualifiers 2005 USGA Men’s Match Play qualifiers: Amateur (round of 64), Junior Amateur (round of 32), and Public Links (round of 32) 2005 AJGA Polo (round of 32)
Category 4	Top 20 in the following 2005 tournaments: AJGA Thunderbird International Junior, MCI Junior Classic (2006), AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions, AJGA FootJoy Boys Invitational, AJGA HP Boys Junior Championship, Orange Bowl International Junior, Mizuno Junior at Chateau Elan, Heather Farr Classic, AJGA Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Junior, Western Junior, AJGA Ping Junior at Mirasol, Golfweek Junior, Ping Junior at The Woodlands
Category 5	Top 10 in the following 2005 tournaments: AJGA Ping Phoenix Junior, AJGA Mission Hills Desert Junior, AJGA Golf Pride Junior Classic, Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational, AJGA Dunlop Carolina Junior Championship, AJGA Nike Golf Junior Championship, Doral-Publix Junior Classic, Callaway Junior World Championship,
Category 6	2005 Men’s State Amateur Champion (all states) 2005 Men’s State Open Champion (all states)
Category 7	International invitees (permanent foreign residents only)
Category 8	26th-40th places in the 2005 Scott Robertson Memorial 2005 Scott Robertson 14 & Under Champion
Category 9	21st-40th places in all tournaments listed in Category 4 11th-20th places in all tournaments listed in Category 5 Top 60 of the Golfweek and NJGS rankings as of 3/1/06
Category 10	2005 AJGA Open tournament winners and Honorable Mention All Americans (does not include pre/post season events or the Nike Jr. All-Star Series) 2005 USGA Men’s Junior Amateur & Men’s Public Links (round of 64)
Category 11	61-100 of Golfweek and NJGS rankings as of 3/1/06

Additional categories apply to 14 & Under age division only:

Category 12	State junior champion (all states, 12-14 years and excluding 11 and under)
Category 13	Top 5 finish in previous years of the Scott Robertson Memorial, 14 and under division
Category 14	101-200 of Golfweek and NJGS rankings as of 3/1/2006 (This is the overall ranking, not ranking by graduating class.)
Category 15	Nike All Star Team, 2005 12-14 years of age only
Category 16	200-700 of Golfweek and NJGS rankings as of 3/1/2006
Category 17	Top 75 NJGS, Class of 2009, rankings as of 3/1/2006 Top 75 NJGS, Class of 2010, rankings as of 3/1/2006 Top 50 NJGS, Class of 2011, rankings as of 3/1/2006

Additions: (apply to all categories)
A.	The entry committee reserves the right to exempt additional players.
B.	1 spot for every 14 that attempt to qualify, in the two Scott Robertson qualifying events for the 15-18 year old division. Each player is allowed only one attempt at qualifying.
C.	Winner of Scott Robertson Junior Tour (Roanoke Valley). (1 spot for Boys 15-18 category, 1 spot for Boys 14 & under category)
D.	Top two qualifiers from US Challenge Cup, New England qualifier in the 15-18 division, and top qualifier in the 14 & under division.

Example:	If 83 players apply from the first 6 categories, all of those applicants will be accepted (this includes any special exemptions granted by the entry committee). If 8 other players have applied from category 7, then 5 of those will be accepted (based on criteria) to reach 88 total. The 2 players in category 7 not chosen will be ranked by the committee as alternates until the qualifiers have been played, at which point the alternates will be designated from the qualifiers. The remaining applicants in category 7, plus those in 8-11 will then only earn entry through the qualifier. The field size may be reduced if the # of applicants from the 11 categories is less than 96.
Note:	The SRM entry committee reserves the right to review the exemption criteria yearly and make changes as necessary. The decisions of the Entries Committee are final.

Qualifying Information

In the event that an applicant does not meet any of the entrance criteria (listed on our website) or the applicant's entrance criteria category does not make the field due to the large number of applicants, they will be offered the opportunity to try and qualify into the tournament field. If you would like to participate in the qualifier, fill out the tournament application and indicate on the application that you will attempt to qualify.

There will be two qualifying round opportunities. A local qualifying round, for Virginia residents, will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006. A second qualifying round will be held for out of state participants on Wednesday May 17, 2006. It may be possible for an out of state participant to try and qualify in the local qualifier on April 29th, or a Virginia resident may try and qualify on May 17th. The participant must put this request in writing and will be considered at the discretion of the Scott Robertson Memorial Entry Committee based on availability.

Should there be an interest and a suitable number of applicants for the boys or girls 14 and under division, the Entries Committee may consider a qualifier for these divisions on May 17, 2006 only. The Scott Robertson Memorial Entry Committee guarantees 1 spot for every 14 qualifiers in the boys/girls 15-18 division.

If a player is not accepted, and declares on their application that they will not attempt to qualify, their full entry fee will be returned. If an applicant participates in the qualifier and fails to qualify an $87.50 refund will be returned to the player, half of the original entry fee.
