Become an Advanced Golfer with Good Sportsmanship Today!

The First Tee is dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. The First Tee program will teach children lessons that lay the foundation needed to meet the many challenges of life. The First Tee experience is characterized by a dynamic curriculum, supportive instruction and positive character building. Our program will incorporate these standards through classroom, practice facility and on course instruction. We will teach “life skills” through the game of golf.

The First Tee of Roanoke Valley seeks to foster an appreciation of the discipline and sportsmanship required in the game of golf and to demonstrate how these qualities can be applied to everyday life experiences.

Volunteer Today! with The First Tee of Roanoke Valley

Today's youth need to experience support, care and love. They need to feel valued. They need to understand boundaries and expectations. And they need constructive, enriching opportunities to grow.

As a volunteer for The First Tee of Roanoke Valley, you can help meet these needs, and many more. Possessing golf experience is not necessary; however, possessing a passion for helping youth is a must. Opportunity abounds. We have a job for you whether you're in high school, retired, or in between; whether you're able to dedicate one hour each week, or 40. Teachers are encouraged!
